Artillery are basic indirect units. Normally they can fire with a range of 2-3 spaces away. They cost 6000 funds. CO Grit of Blue Moon is particularly skilled with these units, while Orange Star's CO, Max, is deficient with them. Artilleries are about as strong as an APC defensively. Offensively, they have a range of 2-3 spaces. They are cheap and useful.

Competitive Play ==
While Artillery units don't have the strongest indirect firepower, yet they are, by far, the most commonly used unit in competitive matches due to the power they pack at their low price.
It is not advisable to build too many of them, because they are slower than direct units, as well as easily countered by Infantry spamming, B. Copters and Black Bombs. But the Artillery unit still remains a good way to damaging the enemy's Tanks and countering the occasional Md. Tank. They're good for defensive play, but make sure you protect your Artillery with plenty of Infantry and an offensive unit (like a Tank).
Trivia
The Orange Star's and Rubinelle's artillery resembles the American M109 Paladin self-propelled howitzer.
Although based on Russia/USSR, the Blue Moon's artillery resembles the German Hummel self-propelled artillery.
The Lazurian Army/IDS's artillery resembles the Russian SU-76 self-propelled gun/tank destroyer.
