Drake (Japanese: モップ, Mop) is a Green Earth CO. As a former pirate he is a specialist in Naval Units. Although his Naval Units have heavier armor and are faster, his Air Units are weaker than average. The movement of his units is unaffected by rain.
He is good friends with Eagle, and is the only person who's percentage of Tag Power is highest with.
Advance Wars
When you first meet Drake, Green Earth has already been attacked by the Andy Clone. At first he is suspicious of Andy, but after fighting him realises he was wrong.
Drake's naval units have +1 movement and +2 terrain stars by default. His air units suffer a 20% attack penalty. Rain does not affect his movement and the chances of rain occurring during random weather is increased by 7%.
Advance Wars 2: Black Hole Rising
Drake joins Eagle and Jess in liberating Green Earth from Black Hole's invasion of Macro Land. He tries to deal with the petty quarrels that go on between Eagle and Jess.
Drake's naval units have +1 movement and +10% defense. His air units suffer a 30% attack penalty. Rain does not affect his movement and the chances of rain occurring during random weather is increased by 7%.
Advance Wars: Dual Strike
A clone of Drake under the command of Jugger appears during the campaign much to the dismay of his friends.
Drake's naval units have +20% attack. His air units suffer a 10% attack penalty.
CO Powers
CO Power - Tsunami: All enemy units take 1 damage and lose half their fuel as well as giving all ally units +10% defence (also +10% offense in Dual Strike).
Super CO Power - Typhoon: All enemy units take 2 damage and lose half their fuel. In addition, the weather turns to rain as well as giving all ally units +10% defence (also +10% offense in Dual Strike).
Tactics
In all 3 games, his naval superiority makes him one of the best CO's to use in sea battles, although the air units which often accompany naval units in sea battles suffer a penalty. The fuel reduction caused by both of his CO Powers are most devastating in large maps since units must expend more fuel to move across the map ; on naval maps, it means the enemy's units can be potentially be destroyed via running out of fuel.
The mass damage caused by Drake's CO Powers make them among the better ones in the series due to the fact that they affect all enemy units. The induction of Fog of War via his Super CO Power helps the player in that it hinders the opponent during their next turn, but it also means that the player does not have an advantage in using it before attacking.
In competitive play, Drake has disadvantages since Ports and naval units are rarely used, while air units (which are weaker for Drake) are usually used. However, his strong Super CO Power still makes him worth using..

With Dual Strike, Drake became a pretty solid CO, as the faster charge system allows Drake to use his excellent CO powers more often.
Trivia
- Drake is named after a word for Dragon. He also shares his name with Sir Francis Drake, who is famous for defeating the Spanish Armada.
- In AW1 and AW2 he has a binocular.
- In Dual Strike, it's revealed that Drake is an excellent surfer.
- In Advance Wars: Dual Strike, he is one of the COs who never actually appear in the Campaign personally, the others being Kanbei, Olaf (According to Sasha, Olaf sends his regrets that he would not be able to help in Omega Land), Andy, Nell (She is only seen talking to Rachel on the phone), Flak and Adder. A cloned version of Drake does appear, though. However, he can be purchased and played in any other game mode except Campaign and Combat.
